Wedding Anniversary Pocket card

Well we are half way through January and of course we now start to think of those special cards we would like to make, before we know it Valentines day will be here.

Although this is an anniversary card I think it would easily make a Valentines card too

The size of this card is 8" x 8"
I matted red spotty paper onto craft card
I then used a Spellbinders die to make the edge for my pocket which is stuck down on 3 sides with red liner tape leaving the opening at the top for the tags to slot into
My flowers are made by rolling up lace ribbon, which is something I learned from Sue Wilson's blog
My images are Lili of the Vally, which I coloured with Copic Alcohol Markers which are matted onto patterned paper and then onto craft card which is cut into the tag shape.

I hope you like my card and thank you for taking the time to read my blog

Best wishes

Moon Fairy

This card has been made with the Lavinia Stamp Challenge in mind and I just had to use the Moon Fairy as my main focus on the card

I started with a piece of card 10cm x 10cm and I brushed Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink spherically around the edge of the card getting lighter towards the centre, next I used a sponge to darken the edges for more depth.  I then stamped the Moon Fairy centrally on the card.  I then used the Willow stamp repeatedly along the bottom of the card and the Vine stamp along the top of the card.

I used a black card base which is 5 3/4" square and embossed some Centura Pearl card, which was glued onto the card base.  I matted my main image onto black card and used foam pads to add a little dimension.

To finish off I added Cosmic Shimmer Icicle Blue Twinkles glitter glue to the fairy's wings, next I added some dots to the sky with a white gel pen and added some highlights to the fairy.  I then used Cosmic Shimmer Silver Twinkles glitter glue dotted in the sky and edged the card with it too

I hope you like my card and thank you for taking the time to read my post

Things with Wings

Things with Wings is the theme for this Months Clarity Challenge so here is my take on it

In my head this is a place I would very much like to visit, it is calm and tranquil and of course warm
the only sounds to be heard as I sit looking out to sea are the birds in the sky, wouldn't you just love to go there

Well I hope you like my card and thank you for taking the time to read my post

Best wishes

Special Friend

Hello everyone I hope that you are all well today

I thought that I would share with you a card that I made for a very good friend of mine

The size of this card is 8" x 8"
I started out by stamping my Stamping Bella image onto card and then colouring in with Copic alcohol markers, then I trimmed the image to the desired size and rounded of the corners with a corner punch.  Next I matted some pretty floral paper onto craft card and then stuck this to my card base.  I then took a different floral paper and cut it to about 12cm x 12cm and matted this onto craft card too.  I then used the Granada Die from the Sue Wilson Spanish Collection to cut out a mat for my focal image to sit on, the paper I used was a wallpaper sample but fit my colour scheme perfectly, I mounted this onto foam pads and placed it centrally on the smaller floral square.  I then matted my main focal image onto craft card and stuck this to the frame using foam pads

To finish off the card I used the Sue Wilson Finishing Touches complete petals and open petals to cut out my flowers and a few nice leafy flourishes.  some sentiments and wooden heart buttons finish off the card completely, and I am happy to say that my friend loved it

I hope you like it too and thank you for taking the time to read my blog

Best wishes

Dragon's Lair Designs Challenge - New Beginnings

Well good morning everyone and Happy New Year
I hope that 2015 brings you much happiness

The Challenge Starting today on Dragon's Lair Designs is very apt indeed and is all about New Beginnings, now a very dear friend of mine is going to have a baby very soon so I decided to make a New Baby card, which is very much a new beginning indeed

I decided to make a Diamond Fold card and used the Baby Giraffe as my focal image

To make this card I started with a piece of card 6 inches by 12 inches

I then scored the card at 2 inches, 4 inches, 8 inches and 10 inches, then took a pencil and made a mark on the top and bottom of the card at the 6 inch score line, what you then do is turn the card diagonally and make an x pattern between the mark and the first score line (this will be the 2" and 10" line) then you need to burnish all of your folds

I then made a template to enable me to get the right sized backing papers

To make the template I drew around the middle diamond of the card and then made it slightly smaller all the way around by 1/16 of an inch, this then made it very easy to cut out my papers, to get the right size for the smaller sections of the card, simply cut out a whole diamond shape in you chosen paper and then cut this in half and then in half again

Once I had lined up all of my papers I inked all of the edges with a light brown chalk ink

Then I printed off and coloured my image and cut him out, I then stuck him to the front of the card using foam pads.  I then attached some wooden heart buttons to either side of the panels and stamped the New Baby sentiment and die cut it out, I attached these to the card on foam pads too.  One of the things I love about this card is that it folds up nicely to fit into a C6 sized envelope and yet still looks stunning when it is on the mantelpiece.

I hope that you like my card and that I have given you some inspiration to enter the challenge yourself.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and please do feel free to leave me a comment they are all very much appreciated

Happy New Year Everyone
